SYN project: Young people and the Internet

The following three packages were produced for a SYN and Telstra funded project on young people and the internet. The packages were also presented live over two half-hour specials on SYN (90.7)

'Young electronic artists and their rights Online'

This package explored how young electronic artists protect the rights to their music online. It addressed the sort of things artists are doing to protect their music and also dealt with some of their confusion about their rights online. I spoke to two young electronic artists, Chris Donaldson from Neon Knights and Yama Indra from G.L.O.V.E.S and Damn Arms. I also spoke to Steve Scully from an online music blog and Sabiene Heindl of Music Industry Piracy Investigations to get a wider perspective on the issue

I spoke to a couple of myspace and facebook users, IT Law researcher Dr Dan Svantesson from Bond University and Renee Barnes a journalist and a lecturer at RMIT about the issue.
