This montage was created for ABC Radio National's 'The Night Air.' The Night Air is a highly experimental program, featuring remixed and sampled sound, interviews and music. This montage became part of a 30 minute montage on the theme of isolation and journey that will be broadcast on the ABC in late November 2008.
It is based on the Nullarbor, the vast stretch of plain between Adelaide and Perth. I used a range of sounds, music and audio grabs to attempt to capture the beauty and danger of the landscape.
In the final mix the piece was dissected into two halves, to give the 30 minute montage a sense of structure. For the purposes of this show reel I have reconnected the piece.
